Surgery

Most pets will require surgery at some point during their lives and our veterinarians are here to help when that time comes.

We offer various surgical services at our clinic, ranging from routine to advanced procedures.

We want you to know that when you bring your pet to Heritage Hills they are in caring and capable hands. All patients go through a pre-surgical exam to ensure that they are healthy enough to undergo surgery.

Members of our veterinary team will carefully monitor each patient before, during and following surgery to ensure the utmost safety and comfort at all times.

Spay & Neuter

Spaying and neutering can have several benefits, including reducing the risk of certain types of cancer and other health problems.

In particular, these procedures result in behavioural benefits, such as reducing aggression, marking, and roaming in male pets and eliminating heat cycles and associated behaviours in female pets.

It’s important for pet owners to discuss the benefits and potential risk of spaying and neutering with the veterinarian, as well as the appropriate age for the procedure to be performed.

Please consult with Heritage Hills on spaying and/or neutering procedures.

Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft tissue surgery is a type of veterinary surgery that involves procedures on the body, such as muscles, organs, and blood vessels.

Soft tissue surgeries can greatly improve the quality of life for pets by addressing a variety of medical conditions.

Some examples of soft tissue surgeries for pets include the removal of masses, wound or laceration repair, reconstruction of damaged tissues or organs, and surgical treatment of urinary tract and digestive system disorders.

Orthopaedic Surgery

Orthopaedic surgery focuses on treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions in pets, such as fractures, ligament tears, and joint problems.

This type of surgery may involve the use of screws, pins, plates or other specialized equipment to repair or replace damaged bones or joints.

Common orthopaedic surgeries we perform include treating cruciate ligament tears and some hip, knee surgeries.
